Waltzing Type
My project investigates a way to combine type and music. It is a way to walk a line to consider sounds that are made; the auditory and the visual form of type together. I chose the piece “The Blue Danube” by Johan Strauss II. This piece is light and has good movement and because it is a waltz there are no pauses in the music and the rhythm is very even and steady. This is my way to explore the different nuances of the letters in music. Music is something to capture visually as we cannot see sound waves with the naked eye. This exploration was to pursue capturing the undefinable.
